Western Pension Solutions is carrying out a programme of research and education on behalf of its sister company, In-Vest & Retire. The aim of the research is to teach and seek feedback from family firms on the development of CDC schemes as an alternative option for workplace pension provision.
CDC is a new type of workplace pension which combines the most favorable elements of defined contribution (DC) and defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. We are organising this event because we believe CDC provides an opportunity for family firms to offer improved retirement outcomes for their colleagues without creating additional costs or risks for the business, or for current and future generations of the family.
We are offering this as a way for Business owners or their representatives at some of our established contacts to hear about the latest developments in CDC pensions. Indeed, October is proving to be a very auspicious month for CDC, with the Royal Mail CDC scheme admitting its first members and the Department for Work and Pensions issuing statutory regulations for the coming multi-employer master trust version of CDC.
As well as the teams from Western Pension Solutions and In-Vest & Retire, you will hear from our newest recruit, Adrian Boulding MA FIA FRSA, who is one of the UK’s leading experts on CDC.
We would like the meeting to be a genuine two-way communication. It’s not only an opportunity to increase your knowledge of CDC, we would also like to hear your reactions, what aspects of CDC might appeal to your firm and any impediments you can imagine might need to be overcome on the road for a firm upgrading its workplace pension proposition to CDC.
Format: This is a genuine in-person roundtable, and the plan is we will be seated around a Boardroom type table to facilitate a genuine exchange of views.
Pre-reading: We will send you nearer the date a brief CDC primer so that anyone unfamiliar with the basic concept can come ready to participate in the discussion.
Follow up: We are of course making no charge for this event, but it would be enormously helpful if we could get your considered feedback after the event.
