Family businesses are the backbone of the UK economy with many having been around for generations whilst others are on the start of their journey. Collectively they contribute significantly to the national economy and impact lives on a daily basis.
With many taking a long term view, good leadership is essential and over the course of the pandemic leadership skills will have undoubtedly been put to the test. Some of the qualities that family firms have at their core are innovation, sustainability, shared purpose and long-term ambition with leaders that have vision, purpose and direction.
Western Pension Solutions has teamed up with Family Business United to create the inaugural Family Business Top 100, a report showcasing the best of family business individuals across the UK and to recognise those individuals who continue to make a difference and drive their businesses forward.
The Family Business Top 100 seeks to give recognition to senior family business representatives for their continuing endeavours and to showcase them with a peer group that is collectively responsible for businesses that provide significant employment, create income and generate wealth in all corners of the UK, and provide unequivocal support in their local communities too.
Nominations are sought from all corners of the UK and all sectors of the economy. Entrants must have been working in a senior position within the business for at least five years. Our judging panel will review the nominations and determine the final 100 for inclusion in a report to be published later this year.
